Here it is 3 yrs later and I find out Mike died in 2016. Mike was instrumental in my early recovery at the old Mid City. We also worked together around 1988/1989. Another guy who worked with us was Mike Speck who just passed away last Friday March 8, 2019. I frequently laugh as I look back on those days of early sobriety. Mike and Mike would always mess with each other. I remember one time when Mike C. snuck up on Mike S while he was trimming one of the units out and lit and threw a whole pack of fire crackers in the open window Mike S was working in. I thought Mike S was gonna kill him. He was so mad. But, Mike and Mike became good friends over the next year or so. Mike Chew had a way of making friends. Even as a instigator. I will miss both you guys. Thanks Mike Chew for ALL your help in the program.

So very sorry to learn of Mike's passing. He was genuinely unique and I consider my self fortunate to have spent time with him... the cigars helped. I miss him.

I want to extend to you and your family my deepest sympathy. It is tragic when we lose someone in death. But soon those tears of sadness are going to change to tears of joy. God's purpose for mankind is going to be fulfilled and we will no longer experience suffering and death; we have that promise given to us at Revelation 21:4. We also have the hope of seeing those we have lost in death, once again, here on earth; Acts 24:15 brings that out. I do hope that you find comfort in this.

Although I did not know Mike very long, the few times I got to talk to him he came across to me as a very nice individual. I only wish i could have gotten to know him better.

So sorry to hear of Mike's passing. We haven't seen each other in many years but he was a good friend in high school. I will always remember Mike as a gentle soul and I know he will be missed.
