David L. Appleby, Sr., 78, of West Hanover Township passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at Carolyn’s House, Harrisburg.
Born March 5, 1938 in Carroll County, Maryland, he was a son of the late Clarence and Helen Appleby.
A retired Outrider from Penn National Race Course, he was an avid golfer, loved reading Westerns and watching cowboy movies.
Surviving are his wife Janet L. (Geesaman) Appleby; daughter Terri Carter; son David Appleby, Jr.; step daughter Carol Cooper; brother Robert, husband of Mary Appleby; grandchildren PJ, Sadie, Andrew Brian, David, John David, Jennifer, and Paige; and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Buse Funeral Home, 9066 Jonestown Road, Grantville preceded by a visitation from 10:00 AM.
