Alice Marie (Engle) Lemmon went to be with her husband on January 25, 2016.
Marie, as she liked to be called, was a native of Tower City. She married a military man and traveled the world as an Army wife. She was previously a nurse working in hospitals and also worked as a waitress at many areas as they moved around.
She loved life and was a wonderful person to know, who would help anyone that needed it and was always there when needed. She lived in Mesa, Arizona for 15 years and upon retirement returned to Pennsylvania in 2011.
She leaves behind a daughter Alice D. Lemmon with whom she lived in Palmyra; sons Alvin D. Lemmon Jr. of Tremont and George Cinqmars (Leanne) of Cressona; grandchildren James Alvin Dean Lemmon Sr. of Good Springs, Kristina Marie Stichler of Annville, Alvin D. Lemmon III of Tremont, Jonathan Lemmon of Tremont and Kathleen Lemmon of Boston, MA; great granddaughter Camille Marie Lemmon of Pine Grove and great grandson James Alvin Dean Lemmon Jr. of Tower City; nephews Edward Engle, George Engle and Raphael Engle; numerous other grandchildren; great grandchildren; and a special man Dave Lefever, her Guitar Man!
She was predeceased by her husband Alvin D. Lemmon Sr. in 1979; companion and wonderful man Billie Fetterhoff in 2005; sister Violet Shuey; brother Edward Engle; and parents Edward I. and Alice E. (Harman) Engle.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private in St. Peters Cemetery, Orwin.
