Mark E. Leitzel, 84, of Lower Paxton Township went to be with the Lord Jesus on Saturday, October 29, 2016 in the Spring Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center, Harrisburg.
Born June 17, 1932 in Millersburg, he was a son of the late Frank and Marguerite (Rowe) Leitzel and was also preceded in death by a son Rodney, brother Earl, and sister Gladys.
He was a graduate of Millersburg High School and Williamsport Technical School. He retired from Gannett Fleming, Camp Hill and enjoyed hiking, fishing, and spending time with his family. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he was a member of the American Legion Post 730 and the VFW.
Surviving are the love of his life, his wife of over 60 years June (Schaffner) Leitzel; two daughters Terry Davies and Karen Leitzel, wife of Brenda Brown; two sons Kim Leitzel and Mark A. (Tony) Leitzel, husband of Tracy Leitzel; brothers Clark Leitzel and Robert Leitzel, husband of Renee Leitzel; numerous grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandsons. In loving memory of Mark: loving husband, faithful father, good brother, caring grandfather, and fine friend: Semper Fi, now rest in peace, we love you.
A private memorial service was held on Nov 4, 2016 officiated by Pastor David V. Martin. Interment was at Jacobs Methodist Church Cemetery, Halifax, with U.S. Marine Corps flag presentation.
