Wilmer E. Wagner, 92, of Palmyra passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023.
Born February 1, 1931 in Lebanon County, he was a son of the late Paul and Mary (Bashore) Wagner.
A retired State Farm Insurance Agent, he was a member of United Zion Church, Palmyra, a 1949 graduate of Hershey High School and active with Gideons International for over 40 years. Wilmer participated in the local Prison Ministry, drove ambulance for Palmyra Ambulance Association where he was a certified EMT and a trained volunteer chaplain at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Harlingen, Texas. He was a bell ringer for the Salvation Army at Christmas time. Enjoyment for Wilmer was his visits with friends on Londonderry Village Campus, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, weekly walks with his daughter and Friday morning breakfasts with his sons.
Surviving are his wife of 71 years Arlene H. (Hostetter) Wagner; children Mary Lou Grant (William), Paul R. Wagner (Ruth), and Timothy S. Wagner (Lori); brothers Elvin R. Wagner (Barbara) and Nathan Wagner; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 15, 2023 at Palmyra Church of the Brethren, 45 North Chestnut Street, Palmyra followed by a Celebration of Life fellowship. Private interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
