Thomas S. Dienno, 98, formerly of Camp Hill passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Middletown Home.
Born July 31, 1921 in Shipoke Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Nicola and Verna L. (DeFrank) Dienno and also preceded in death by sisters Mary Zeone and Rose Derpa.
Retired from the Pennsylvania, Penn Central, and Conrail Railroads, he was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Camp Hill and former member of the Camp Hill Elks. He graduated from Harrisburg Catholic High School and the Thompson Business Institute. A U.S. Army Air Corps Technical Sergeant veteran, he served in World War II as an airplane crew chief 750 of the 442nd Troop carrier group in a C-47 participating in Battles and Campaigns in Rome-Arno, Normandy, Northern and Southern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe.
Surviving are his wife of 73 years Helen M. (Zulli) Dienno; daughter Carol A., widow of Harvey Kreider of Hummelstown; son Thomas N., husband of Elizabeth Dienno of Lexington, Kentucky; granddaughters Theresa Marie Dienno, Priscilla, wife of Michael Cooney, and Marianne, wife of Shawn Troutman; and great grandchildren Mia Troutman and Gianna and Anthony Cooney.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 18, 2020 at his church, 3435 Trindle Road, Camp Hill preceded by a viewing from 10:00 AM. Please follow safety and distancing guidelines. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg.
