Sylvester B. Lilley, 92, of Grantville passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020.
Born February 14, 1928 in Lancaster, he was one of fifteen children of the late Joseph Bear and Rosie Zenna (Davis) Lilley.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years Lore (Runkle) Lilley; children Rodney W., husband of Kathaleen Lilley of Lebanon, Meloney G., wife of Keat Morris of Preston, Maryland, and Denise M., wife of Alfonso Santiago of Harrisburg; grandsons Justin D. Lilley, Joseph A., husband of Asa Reitzi, and Thomas J. Lilley; and great granddaughters Franki and Forest.
While his heart and pride were in his own business, Cast Iron and Steel Repair Service in Grantville, he faithfully served and retired from Bethlehem Steel. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War serving in the Heavy Mortar Company. Syl was a member of Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Shellsville VFW Post 9639 and loved his trusted buddy Cocoa.
Service of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 28, 2020 at his church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville preceded by a viewing from 10:00 AM. Interment in Grantville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville, PA 17028.
