Susan E. (Hostetter) Smith

Susan E. Smith, 63, of Erie and formerly of Annville passed away Monday, April 12, 2021.

Born January 27, 1958 in Lebanon, she was a daughter of Harold E. Hostetter of Grantville and the late Ruth E. (Lerch) Hostetter.

Sue was an accomplished seamstress and could fashion nearly any window treatment that was desired.  Active at First Alliance Church, Erie, she was a Sunday School teacher and involved in the Awana Program as well as many other children’s programs at the church.  She loved to share outdoor plants with her friends but most of all she was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to all.

In addition to her father are her husband of 32 years David L. Smith; sons Luke Smith (Ana Lucia) of Columbus, Ohio, Michael Smith (Gabrielle) of Chicago, Illinois, and Aaron Smith (Emily) of Mansfield, Ohio; siblings Thomas Hostetter (Gloria), David Hostetter (Tonya), Daniel Hostetter (Carolyn), and Joann Oellig (widow of Keith); and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, May 1, 2021 at First Alliance Church, 2939 Zimmerly Road, Erie.  All CDC guidelines that pertain to the COVID-19 pandemic will be observed. Face masks are required due to state recommendations.
