Susan D. "Sue" (Engle) Byrd

Susan D. “Sue” Byrd, 74, formerly of Palmyra passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 at Linden Village, Lebanon.

Born January 6, 1949 in Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late William and Miriam (Brandt) Engle.  Sue was the widow of Larry D. Byrd since April 2020, after 52 years of marriage, and also preceded in death by her brother Frederick W. Engle.

She was previously employed by Zoo America, Hershey as an Administrative Assistant and was secretary of the Hershey Coin Club.  Sue was an active member of First Evangelical Congregational Church, Palmyra and enjoyed crafting.

Surviving are her daughters Laura S. Johnson (Scott) of Palmyra and Rebecca A. Gingrich (Brandon) of Lebanon; sisters Dianne Arnold of Campbelltown, Kathy Dove of Palmyra, and Sarah Graup (Greg) of Cornwall; grandchildren Candice, Gabrielle, Kelsey, Conner, and Graeme; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Larry and Sue will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 15, 2023 at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville followed by a luncheon at her church, 55 West Main Street, Palmyra.
