Sherman E. Wood

Sherman E. Wood, 86, of Palmyra and formerly of Cleona passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021.

Born November 18, 1934 in Hershey, he was a son of the late Joseph Wood and Maggie Via.  He was the widower of Joann “Dolly” (Shirk) Wood since August 2006 and also preceded in death by a daughter Judy Orehek.

He retired from Hershey Foods and was a member of the Hershey Foods Hooks & Horns Gunning Club and NRA.  A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, Sherman enjoyed puzzles, solitaire, hunting and the outdoors.

Surviving are his children Debra Wood, Kathy Sherman, and Joseph Wood; son-in-law Glenn Orehek; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
