Ruth Eleanor Klinger, 92, formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in Frey Village, Middletown.
Born October 15, 1929 in Kempton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Paul N. and Elizabeth (Dietrich) Fenstermaker. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Rev. Charles ‘Charlie’ L. Klinger and her siblings Alice Baum, Harold Fenstermaker and Marie Knauss.
A graduate of Slatington High School (1946) and the Reading Hospital School of Nursing (1950), she worked at numerous places including industrial nursing, before retiring in 1987 from Hershey Medical Center. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hummelstown, where she served the Lord through various missions and the United Methodist Women. She developed a passion for watercolor painting late in life and was a devoted wife, mother and ‘Mom-Mom’ to her family.
Surviving are her children Randal C. Klinger (wife Nancy) of Hummelstown, Keith P. Klinger (wife Bonnie) of McKinney, Texas and Karen R. Shutt (husband Tod) of Harrisburg; grandchildren Justin (wife Heather), Jordan, Joshua (partner Matt), Jonathan (wife Lauren), Austin (wife Courtney) and Brandon Klinger, Kelsey Green (husband Joshua) and Haley Esworthy (husband Jake); great-grandchildren Emmett and Miles Green and Caden Klinger; siblings Marion and Forrest Fenstermaker.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at her church preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:30 AM. Private interment will be in Hummelstown Cemetery.
