Ruth E. (Sauley) Coleman

Ruth E. (Sauley) Coleman, 95, formerly of Annville passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 in Kadima at Campbelltown.

Born February 20, 1926 in Annville, she was a daughter of the late George A. and Edna M. (Swanger) Sauley.  Ruth was the widow of Jesse R. Coleman since October 1988 and also preceded in death by brother George M. Sauley and sister Kathryn M. Barnes.

She previously worked for Hershey Foods, Nichols, Schwalms Restaurant, and Indiantown Gap.  A member of Kauffman’s United Methodist Church, Annville, she served on the Administrative Board and Missionary Society at the church.  Ruth was also a member of the Union Hose Fire Company Auxiliary, Annville, Alzheimer’s Support Group, and Woman's Christian Temperance Union. 

Ruth was well known as a great gospel singer, singing with the Herald Quartet at local churches and senior centers.

Surviving are her sons William G., husband of Christianna Coleman of Dover, Bradley J., widower of Betty Coleman of Campbelltown, and Brain J., widower of Dolly Coleman of Jonestown; sister Gayle D. Long of Annville; five grandchildren; one step grandson; eight great grandchildren; and three great great granddaughters.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Friday, September 3, 2021 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing from 2:00 PM.  Interment in Palmyra Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kauffman’s United Methodist Church, 380 Kauffman Road, Annville, PA 17003.
