Roy L. “Dutch” Sipe, 97, of South Hanover Township, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022.
Born September 14, 1924 in Hershey, he was a son of the late Walter and Fairy (Wilt) Sipe and widower of Nellie A. (Smith) Sipe since August 2017. The last of his immediate family, Dutch was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
A retired electrician from the former Reading Railroad, he was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Union Deposit, a life member of Hershey VFW #3502 and Hummelstown American Legion #265. Dutch was an Army veteran of World War II serving in Germany, Japan and the Philippians.
Surviving are his children James Sipe (Deborah), Dennis Sipe (Patricia), Kenneth Sipe (Karen), Wendy Haucke, Jeffrey Sipe and Susan Sipe; grandchildren Viki, Adriane (Bill), Michele (Ryan), Laura, Ashley (Liz), Sean (Annissa), Samuel, Otto and Avery; great grandchildren Chloe, Sofie, Brian, Allison, Sean M. (Carina), and Joseph USMC (Morgan); and great great grandson Jameson.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Committal service and military honors will be 1:30 PM Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
