Ronald L. Ditty Obituary

 

 

Ronald Leroy Ditty, 82, of Harrisburg passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019.

 

Born September 8, 1936 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Nelson and Mary (Bickle) Ditty and also preceded in death by brothers Kenneth and Gerald Ditty.

 

Ron was a U.S. Air Force veteran and later moved his family to Alaska where he spent the majority of his life raising his six children and working as a painter.  He loved to cook and bake and shared that skill with his children daily.  In 2016, he returned to Pennsylvania remaining witty, funny and comical until the day he died. 

 

Surviving are his six children Randy, Gregory, Steven (Cheryl), Terri (Brian), Julie Nichols (Lane), and Jennifer Chircop (Tony); twenty grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; brother Gary Ditty (Bonnie); and sister Dorothy Rankin.

 

Liturgy of Holy Eucharist with the Rite of Christian Burial be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville followed by a fellowship at 12:00 Noon.  Interment, with military honors, will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PA Wounded Warriors, 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
