Roger Lee Wheeler

Roger Lee Wheeler, 84, of the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at home.  He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 65 years, Susan J. (Brosius) Wheeler.

Born April 4, 1942 in Newburg, he was a son of the late Clair B. and Dorothy E. (Griffie) Wheeler and was also preceded in death by his sister Ruth Ann Wheeler and stepfather Robert Kressler. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Pamela J. Jefferson (Howard) of Pickerington, Ohio, David L. Wheeler (Ariana) of Mt. Joy, and Nancy J. Hartinger (Christopher) of York; brothers Harry L. Wheeler (Peggy) and Donald K. Wheeler (Betty); and grandchildren M. Taylor Jefferson, Grace C. Wheeler, Julianne R. Wheeler, Sarah E. Hartinger, and Claire M. Hartinger.

A 1960 graduate of Big Spring High School, Roger received his Bachelor of Science in 1965 from Shippensburg University. He taught math at Big Spring High School from 1965 – 1967, then worked for AMP Inc and retired as a reliability engineer from Dupont/FCI in 2001. Roger worshipped at Sell Chapel at the Masonic Village. He was a member of American Radio Relay League, Camp Gnat Hunting Club, Grand Lodge of PA, 50-year member and Past Master of Big Spring Masonic Lodge #361, Past District Deputy Grand Master in the 3rd Masonic District and was a 33rd degree Mason. An amateur Radio Operator “K3SU,” he enjoyed hunting, golfing, woodworking, RV Camping and time at the cottage in Stoney Creek.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, July 19, 2026 followed by a Masonic service and memorial service at 2:00 PM in Sell Chapel at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Private inurnment will be in the Masonic Village Columbarium.
