Roger L. Fletcher

Roger L. Fletcher, 70, of Annville, passed away at home on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

Born December 4, 1955, in Mechanicsburg, he was the son of the late Sylvester and Mildred (Crone) Fletcher. He was also preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

Throughout childhood Roger worked on his family orchard picking peaches (broken arm included), weeding the raspberry field (which he despised) and sorting apples for sale and cider. After graduation from Northern York High School/Cumberland Perry Vo-Tech, Roger joined his oldest brother’s appliance business, Herr Electric. He started servicing brown goods (radios and TVs), delivery and installation, finally learning working the sales floor at several locations in the greater Harrisburg area. When retail sales began to falter, Roger helped to move the business into a viable commercial enterprise. In 2009 Roger joined the team of L.H. Brubaker Appliances. He thoroughly enjoyed helping people find just the right appliance to meet their unique and personal needs. Roger sacrificially labored to ensure that builders, vendors and clients were met with respect and commitment to detail.

Roger was a member of Hershey Free Church since becoming a follower of Jesus in an intimate and personal relationship. His dedication to service extended beyond his employment. Roger served on the church’s Adult Sunday School Committee, was an usher/greeter/leader for the Guest Care Team, sat on the elder board for many terms, and started a vibrant single adult ministry.

For Roger prayer was a significant aspect of his character - for his family, for his colleagues and friends, for his church, for the country and for the world. He treasured the time he spent with other prayerful men, meeting each Sunday with a small group for prayer, and standing in the church lobby before worship services dedicating that morning to the Lord and to the people who would walk through the doors – members and guest alike.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann E. (Deibel) Fletcher; daughter, Amanda L. Fletcher; son, Zachary M. Fletcher (Melissa L.); granddaughters, Emma L. Fletcher, Riley E. Fletcher, and Gabby L. Fletcher; brothers, Alan Fletcher and David Fletcher; sister-in-law, Ellen Deibel; and canine companion Cali.

Roger’s impact on his family will leave a lasting legacy. His gentle spirit, his disarming authenticity, his infectious laughter will be sorely missed. Roger was a simple man, who lived a quiet life, but who touched lives in such a meaningful way – few met Roger and didn’t walk away better for the experience.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10 AM Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Hershey Free Church, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036. There will not be a time of visitation prior to the service. Family and friends are invited to remain after the service to greet the family and have light refreshments – some of Roger’s favorites! Private interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
