Robert E. Herr, 84, of Annville passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at home.
Born May 30, 1942 in Lebanon, he was a son of the late Ross, Jr. and Margaret (Knight) Herr.
Bob was deeply loved by his wife, two sons, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and his large extended family. He loved his work as a mechanic for Hershey Foods, faithfully attended Lebanon Valley Bible Church, and served in the PA Army National Guard.
He was quiet but strong; his actions spoke louder than any words. His priority was his family; he loved you by doing for you. He enjoyed cars and had a gift for fixing, building, and figuring out just about anything. Whether it was mechanical work or something that needed to be repaired, he would get the job done.
Above all, his relationship with his Savior was most important to him. He cared deeply that those he loved were following the Lord, and that remained one of his greatest concerns. His passing leaves a hole that cannot be filled, but we find immeasurable comfort in knowing that he no longer suffers or feels pain, and that his mind and body are healed and made whole.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years Sally A. (Rhine) Herr; sons Jonathan R. Herr (Rana) of Tryon, North Carolina and Philip A. Herr (Kate) of Fredericksburg; siblings Shirley Jacobs (John), Barry Herr (Sandy), Jean Kelly (widow of Ken), Linda Hetrick (widow of Kenneth), David Herr, James Herr, Joyce Reitz (Roy), Margaret Kettering (Tom), and Judy Umberger (Eric); and grandchildren Nicholas, Ethan, Cyrus, Owen, Emersyn, and Gabriel.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Lebanon Valley Bible Church, 1482 Horseshoe Pike, Lebanon preceded by a viewing from 10:00 AM. Interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon Valley Bible Church, 1482 Horseshoe Pike, Lebanon, PA 17042.
