Robert A. Houck, 92, of Palmyra and formerly of Hummelstown and Hershey, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Edwin and Katharine (McKean) Houck. Bob graduated from Bucknell University with a degree in commerce and finance and served in the U.S. 33rd Army Band. He was formerly the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer of HERCO, Inc. until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Hershey Rotary Club and Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce as well as a board member with the Harris Savings Association and Hershey Symphony Orchestra.
Bob is survived by his daughter Karen and son-in-law David, and his daughter Beth; his three granddaughters Danielle, Elise, and Kacey; his four great-grandchildren Owen, Logan, Waylon, and Charlotte; his loving partner Sandy, and his sister-in-law Shirley. He is predeceased by his brother Edwin and wife Patricia.
During his retirement, he enjoyed running Nobodaddy Farm with his daughter Beth and golfing at the Hershey Country Club with his foursome. He was a longtime member of Derry Presbyterian Church where he especially appreciated the choral music. A talented musician, he also enjoyed attending his much-loved Hershey Symphony concerts.
Bob will be remembered for his kind heart, sarcastic sense of humor, and love for his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
