Robby Lee “Butch” Hammond, 77, of Hummelstown passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at home.
Born April 26, 1941 in Mangum, Oklahoma, he was a son of the late Lawrence A. and Bessie (Willis) Hammond.
Butch, along with his wife Shirley, served with The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) in Vienna, Austria as a missionary for 38 years, was a U.S. Navy veteran and member of the Hershey Free Church.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years Shirley L. (Karr) Hammond; sons Nathan, husband of Kelly Hammond, Derek, husband of Sarah Joy Hammond, and Jeremy, husband of Inka Hammond; siblings Calvin, husband of Vici Hammond, Ruth, wife of John Meyer, and Dale, husband of Mary Hammond; and grandchildren Sydney, Cienna, Renata, Vika, Gavin, Riley, Tobin, Jonathan, Jaylene, Anthony, Abigail, Joela, Lilian, Marit, and Timothy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 23, 2019 at his church, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown. Private interment in Boehm’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Willow Street.
