Richard Michael Welkom, Sr., 83, formerly of North Londonderry Township, Lebanon County passed away Monday, May 4, 2026 at Green Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pottsville.
Born September 19, 1942 in Catawissa, he was a son of the late John and Maryanne (Demanski) Welkom. He was the widower of Beverly Marie (Wire) Welkom since March 2015 and also preceded in death by siblings Bob Welkom, Raymond Welkom, Jane Keyte (Bill), and Ronald Welkom (Elanor).
A retired truck driver for Yellow Freight, Richard was a U. S. Army veteran, a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the VFW.
Surviving are his sons James “Randy” Kush (Ann) and Richard Welkom, Jr. (Glenda); sister Joanne Wilhour (widow of Ed); grandson Brett Welkom; sister-in-law Audrey Welkom (widow of Bob); Beverly’s brother Gerry Wire (Deb); and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, May 11, 2026 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment, with military honors, will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
