Richard A. Spisak, 96, of the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, PA and formerly of Hershey, PA, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the Village.
Born April 30, 1927, in Coraopolis, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Ann (Stasko) Spisak. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ethel Lex.
A retired educator from Fairlawn, New Jersey and Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, Richard was a member of the New Jersey Teachers Association, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey, and St. Peter Catholic Church in Elizabethtown. Richard was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Richard also served as a respected football, wrestling, and baseball coach for many years and officiated football and wrestling.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Edna L. (Pifer) Spisak who resides at Masonic Village, 3rd Floor Roosevelt, Room 3633, Elizabethtown, PA 17022; their children Terrence M. Spisak (Suzanne) of Millersville, PA, Barbara A. Hubert (John) of Shippensburg, PA, David A. Spisak (Carol) of Charlotte, NC, Patricia L. Millen (Matt) of Durham, PA, Timothy R. Spisak (Malanie) of Moneta, VA, and Steven M. Spisak (Kim) of Boiling Springs, PA; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
A private funeral service will be held at the Sell Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Interment will be, at the convenience of the family, in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.
