Randy Lee Gotshall, 72, of Berrysburg passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at his home on Fishing Creek Valley Road, Harrisburg, West Hanover Township, after a courageous battle with pancreatic peritoneal cancer.
 
Born February 7, 1953 in Dr. Zedlin Hospital, Lykens, PA, he was a son of the late Norman and Mary (Ramer) Gotshall.
 
A retired service technician from Coca-Cola Enterprises, Randy was a member of Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church and life member of the West Hanover Historical Society.  Randy was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in the DMZ in South Korea during the Vietnam Era.  He received the National Defense Service Medal and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
 
Randy was a self taught musician who loved writing music, playing music, and singing music.  He had been a member of the Marcus Hook Band.  For over 50 years, Randy played in the acoustic duo “Tom and Randy” who released their “Back to the Country” CD in 1999 and he played with the classic Rock & Roll Band “Shannon,” releasing two 45 records in the late 1970s.  They were legends and loved by so many as they played carnivals, fairs, and weddings.  A career highlight was opening for “The Grand Funk Railroad” at the Fuzzy Bunny Nightclub in Gratz.  Words used to describe Randy include sweet, genuine and a true class act.
 
Surviving are his wife of 25 years Diane Lee (Bostdorf) Gotshall; son Shawn Bowman (Megan) of Millersburg; daughters Tyann Miller (Brian) of Stevens, PA and Jessica Land Clouser of Harrisburg; stepsons James Layton (Jennifer) and Chad Layton (Schenley) all of Harrisburg; brothers Rich Gotshall (Carla) of Mount Wolf and Jimmy Gotshall of Berrysburg; sisters Melissa Gotshall of Berrysburg and Karen Gotshall of Gratz; grandchildren Lindsey, Jimmy, Reagan, Taylor, Mollie, Courtney, Khyle, Alivia, Willow, Lola, Chad, Jr. and Tregan; great grandchildren Lucy, Isaac, Ruby and Aiden; uncle Bud Ramer (Bonnie) of Milton; several nieces and nephews.
 
A Service of Christian Burial, with The Rev. W.L. Barnes, III officiating, will be held 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at his church, Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville preceded by a visitation from 10:00 AM.  Interment in the adjoining Shells Cemetery with a luncheon to follow.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville, PA 17028.
