Randolph Armstrong Garrison Obituary

 

 

 

After celebrating a joyous 84th birthday, Randolph Armstrong Garrison of Palmyra, passed away March 6, 2020 in his home with his family by his side.

 

 

Born February 23, 1936 in Charlottesville, Virginia, he was the son of the late Carl and Carrie Garrison.  He retired as a plasterer from Novingers, Inc. in 1998, after 45 years of service.  A devoted husband, father and grandfather and a loyal and loving brother and friend, he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  Randy was an avid golfer (with an impressive 3 holes-in-one), fisherman and baker.  As a young man, he was a talented football, baseball and basketball player.  In his own words, “I’ve had a good life.”

 

 

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Dee Ann (Miller) Garrison; children, Sheree Lynn Garrison of Hummelstown, Lois Ann Wise, with husband Bradley, of Hummelstown, Randy Alan Garrison, with wife Kelly, of Waynesboro, and Jennifer Garrison Whare, with husband Michael, of Boiling Springs; brothers, Carl Garrison of Exton and Robert Garrison of Palmyra; sisters, Hazel Garrison of Palmyra, Irene Kless of Cleona, Margaret Hollenbach and Virginia Davenport of Palmyra; and beloved grandchildren, Tyler Garrison, Bryce Landis, and Matthew and Emma Whare.

 

 

He was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline and brother, Milton.

 

 

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Buse Funeral Home, Palmyra.  Attendees are encouraged to speak at the service and share memories of Randy’s life.  Viewings will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday and 1:00 – 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.  A joyous reception celebrating his life will immediately follow the service on Thursday.  Private interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
