Ralph E. Weaver Obituary

Ralph E. Weaver, 98, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, hard work, faith, and family.

Born on July 7, 1927, in Hershey, he was the son of the late John and Esther (Moonshine) Weaver. Ralph shared 74 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary E. (Kipp) Weaver, who preceded him in death in August 2022. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Jonathan E. Irvin, his brother, Paul Weaver, and his sister, Shirley Leach.

A member of the Greatest Generation, Ralph answered the call to serve his country in the United States Navy, proudly serving during World War II, the Korean War, and throughout the Cold War. His patriotism and dedication to duty remained a source of pride throughout his life.

Ralph was an entrepreneur whose work ethic and determination helped build a lasting legacy in the Palmyra community. As founder of Weaver’s Lawn and Garden, he transformed a small business into a respected local institution. Even later in life, he could often be found at the shop alongside his son, doing what he loved and sharing the wisdom earned through decades of hard work.

A man of deep faith, Ralph was a longtime member of Palmyra Church of the Brethren and generously gave his time to the Grantville Area Food Pantry’s racetrack ministry meal. He believed in serving others and quietly lived out those values every day.

He was a proud member of Hummelstown American Legion Post 265 and a life member of Shellsville VFW Post #9639, the Grantville Volunteer Fire Company, and the Palmyra Sportsmen’s Association. Whether serving his country, supporting his community, or helping a neighbor, Ralph was known for his reliability, generosity, and unwavering commitment to those around him.

Ralph’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon M. Littlejohn and her husband, Lee, of Six Mile, South Carolina; his son, Dale A. Weaver and his wife, Ann, of Hummelstown; his grandson, Will S. Irvin of Charleston, South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory and the example he set.

Ralph lived a remarkable 98 years—building a business, serving his nation, strengthening his community, and loving his family. His legacy endures in the lives he touched and the values he passed on to future generations.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at his church, 45 North Chestnut Street, Palmyra.  Private interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grantville Area Food Pantry, PO Box 2, Grantville, PA 17028.
