Paul W. Garman, 87, of North Londonderry Township passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024.
Born October 26, 1936 in Grantham, Cumberland County, he was raised by foster parents Abe and Esther Hoffer. After Esther’s death, Abe married Naomi Hoffer. Paul was also preceded in death by his mother Alice (Keefer) Haas, John Haas, father John Garman, granddaughter Sara Berkheimer, brother Donald Garman and sister Leona Haffley. He died alongside his daughter Cynthia R. Weatherholtz and great granddaughter Kristi Dougherty.
Retired from Carpenters Union Local 287, he was a member of the Palmyra Church of the Brethren and Palmyra Sportsman’s Association.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years Mamie R. (Lefever) Newhouse Garman; children Dennis Garman, Sr. of Highspire, Donald Garman (Laurie) of Palmyra, Wendy Haver (Brad) of Elizabethtown, Wilson J. Newhouse, Jr. (Peggy) of Valrico, Florida, Paula Oster (Dana) of Marietta, Brian Newhouse of Annville, and Kevin Newhouse (fiancée Cindy Caviness) of Kernersville, North Carolina; sister Mardell Messick; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Palmyra Church of the Brethren, 45 North Chestnut Street, Palmyra preceded by a visitation from 9:00 AM.
