Paul G. Geib Obituary

December 22, 2023, Paul Gene Geib passed into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ, at age 89, at his home he built with his father. He was the loving husband of Helen Byler Geib, celebrating 68 years of marriage on December 17, 2023.


Born August 12, 1934 in rural Lebanon County to the late Paul W. and Luella Spitler Geib, he graduated Campbelltown and Derry Township Schools – Carpentry Vocational Dept. Class of 1952. He graduated HACC and Penn State – Certified Teacher of Carpentry 1980. He was Apprentice and Journeyman Carpenter with M.L. Haldeman, night work at H.B. Reese, and Linesman for the AHL. He was Foreman with Whiting Turner – Safe Harbor, and Manager for Melon Stuart. He served on the Palmyra School Board. Paul was an Instructor/Coordinator for Lebanon Vocational Technical School and Instructor/Administrator for the United Brotherhood Carpenters Local 287 Training Center – Heilmandale Road, Lebanon, PA, a member of that union 71 years, and an Administrator for the Harrisburg Housing Authority.


Loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and friend. 


He is preceded in death by brother Dale Geib (surviving wife Cheryl) and surviving along with his wife, are sisters, Lorraine Patterson and Frances Kauffman (husband James), son Steven Paul Geib and wife Angela, daughter Paula Jean Geib, four granddaughters, Caitlin VanVleet and husband Danny, Olivia VanVleet and husband Tommy, Emilie Martin and husband Brian, and Havilah Geib, eight great grandchildren, Edmund, Henry, Wallace, Blaire, Jack, Evelyn, and two on the way, and cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. 


He loved his Lord and family foremost! He enjoyed so much in life and lived it out in all he did! He was on the Hershey Arena skate gang and played shortstop for Campbelltown EUB, wing for the Junior Bears and end for Fifth Ward.


He was an avid golfer (favorite course, clubs, friends-Fairview and Manada/Ping/Ross Watts and Jimmy Kauffman and Roy Summers) and he made a lot of golf clubs, traveler (cruising Alaska or flying off to Europe or the lower 48 states with his bride), camper, gardener, reader of many books (history, mystery, WWII buff), and apple peeler, and drove patients to the Shriners Hospital Philadelphia as a volunteer, attended Bible studies, Palmyra seniors walking group. Paul enjoyed spending time on the greens with son Steve and catching a hockey game with daughter Paula! He was a Yankees, Phillies, Eagles, and Hershey Bears fan, enjoyed Columbo and murder mysteries, and Seinfeld. He loved his dog Domino. Paul was a 32° Freemason, Mount Lebanon Lodge 226, and member of Campbelltown UM Church. He is dearly missed.


A viewing will be held 10:00 – 11:00 AM Thursday, December 28, 2023 followed by a service at 11:00 AM at his church, 2760 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown.  Interment will follow in Campbelltown United Christian Cemetery.
