Orestina Balaster Obituary
Orestina Balaster, 96, of Traditions of Hershey passed away Friday, May 14, 2021.
Born September 12, 1924 in Robertsdale, she was the youngest and last surviving child of the late William and Addaria (Cialone) Cialone. She was the widow of Ray Balaster since March 1975 and also preceded in death by siblings Angelo Cialone, John Cialone, Theresa Lalli, Helen Cialone, and Nellie Cialone.
Retired from Reese’s Candy Company, she had previously worked for Mr. Hershey at the Hershey Hotel. A 1944 graduate of Hershey High School, she was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Palmyra and the Mohler Center, Hershey, where she taught knitting lessons. She swam at the Hershey Community Center and knitted hats for premature babies at the Hershey Medical Center.
Surviving are her children Adela Rae of Roseville, California, James and his wife Elaine (Smith) Balaster of Magazine, Arkansas, and Aderia and her husband Guyton Giannotta of Hershey; grandchildren Shelli, Todd, Benjamin, Ray, Paul, and Adrian; and great grandchildren Hazel, Evie, and Sammy.
Private interment in Hershey Cemetery.
