Nelson F. Bailey, 94, formerly of Palmyra, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Cornwall Manor.
Born August 21, 1931 in Reading, Pennsylvania Nelson was the son of the late Solon and Emma (Egolf) Bailey and the widower of Mary Ann (Shaner) Bailey since June 2020, after 68 years of marriage.
Nelson was a proud Navy Veteran having served on the USS Pawcatuck. He retired from the Pennsylvania Milk Marketing Board after 36 years of service. In his last role, he was the Chief of the Division of Enforcement. Nelson was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Grantville. He relished volunteering on church mission trips to help rebuild communities devastated by hurricanes, donating his blood for premature babies and singing in the church choir. An accomplished woodworker, he enjoyed blessing others with his creations and talents.
Surviving are his children Donna, wife of Jay Barnett, Andrew, husband of Mary Bailey, and Laurie Stotz; grandchildren Matthew Tarcov, Samantha Block, Brooke Bailey, and Zachary Stotz; and great grandchildren Levon, Scarlett and Miles Block.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Faith United Church of Christ, 117 North Faith Road, Grantville preceded by a visitation from 1:30 PM. A reception will follow. Private interment, with military honors, will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
