Nancy (Hummel) Orsini, 90, a lifetime resident of Hummelstown, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing at Campbelltown after a brief illness.
Born November 23, 1929 in Hummelstown and 8th generation of the founding family of Hummelstown, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Bertha (Wise) Hummel.
A 1947 graduate of the former Hummelstown High School, Nancy was very involved with student government, cheerleading and chorus as she loved to sing. She received her nursing diploma from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, but chose to stay home and lovingly support her growing family.
Nancy was a dedicated Christian and an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, and later a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Despite living with multiple sclerosis for most of her adult life, she enjoyed volunteering at the Hershey Medical Center for many years and faithfully supporting and attending all of her husband’s and sons’ many sporting events and activities.
Preceding her in death are her loving husband of 65 years, Anthony J. Orsini, and two brothers Richard Hummel and John P. Hummel Jr. Surviving are her four sons Michael of Sewickley, husband of Linda Orsini, Thomas of Virginia Beach, husband of Pam Orsini, Steven of Dallas, husband of Amy Orsini and Ronald of Houston, husband of Alice Orsini; eight grandchildren Christine, wife of Brian Mickey, Carolyn, wife of Jason Woytowich, Elizabeth Orsini, Grayson Orsini, husband of Kelsey Orsini, Alexandra Orsini, Angela Orsini, Abigail Orsini, fiancée of David Resendez, and Katherine Orsini; and six great grandchildren Olivia Mickey, Connor Mickey, Caroline Mickey, Ella Grace Mickey, Julia Woytowich and Lauren Elizabeth Woytowich.
The family would like to thank Nancy’s sister-in-law Jeanette Paine, niece, Sherri Paine Rizzo, and the staff at Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing at Campbelltown for all the love and care provided to Nancy in recent years.
Private interment will be at the Hummelstown Cemetery. A memorial service will be celebrated at a later date. Buse Funeral Home, 2 East Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Grace United Methodist Church, 433 East Main Street, Hummelstown PA 17036, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society Pennsylvania Keystone Chapter, 1501 Reedsdale Street, Suite 105, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
