Mildred Anna Miller Obituary

Mildred Anna Miller, 98, of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023.

 

Born September 9, 1924 in Mount. Zion, Lebanon County, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Estella (Schaeffer) Heberling.  The widow of Vernon Joseph Miller since February 2017, she was also preceded in death by her sister Geraldine Tice and brothers Raymond, Curtis, Paul, Earl and Herman Heberling.

 

Mildred, along with her husband, was a famer on their Windy Hill Farm in East Hanover Township and formerly employed as a secretary for East Hanover (Dauphin County) Elementary School and bookkeeper for Whitmoyer Laboratories and Richard Kreider.  A devout Christian and member of Faith United Church of Christ, Grantville, she was a member of Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and 22 year volunteer for the Gittlen Foundation.  A “neatnik,” Mildred was a wonderful cook, baker, artist, seamstress and friend.  She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but most important to Mildred was her love for her family.

 

Surviving are her daughters Verna J. (Miller) Case of Davidson, North Carolina and Sheila M., wife of Michael Miller of Tulpehocken Township, Berks County; grandchildren Jefferson M. Case (Lisa), Jordan M. Case (Johana), and Emilie C. (Miller) Fink (Austin); great grandchildren Virginia Tyler Case, Anna Carson Case, Clayton Elizabeth Case, Corbin Michael Fink, Canaan Austin Fink, Conrad Miller Fink, and Mila Josephine Case; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

 

A memorial service will be held 11:30 AM Friday, March 31, 2023 at her church, 117 North Faith Road, Grantville. Viewing will be held 6:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday at the church. There will be no viewing on Friday.  Private interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
