Mary E. Pankake, 98, of Harrisburg and formerly of Jonestown passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at home.
Born December 6, 1923 in Middletown, she was the last surviving child of the late David and Bertha (Dupler) Kohr and widow of William Eshleman and John Pankake, Sr. She was also preceded in death by a son William Eshleman, grandson Joseph W. Eshleman, twin sister Martha Reed, sister Sara Nelson and brothers Ira Kohr and John Kohr.
Retired from Reese’s, she was a member of Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she had served on the Altar Guild. Mary was also a member of Farm Women #2, East Hanover Township Autumn Leaves, Frey Village Auxiliary, and Shellsville VFW #9639 Auxiliary.
Surviving are her son John L. Pankake, Jr. (Dee) of Elizabethtown; daughter Patty J. Harmon (widow of Charles) of Harrisburg; grandchildren Robin Giunta, Brian Eshleman, Elizabeth Holler and James Harmon; great grandchildren Luke Holler, Anna Holler, Nora Holler and Owen Giunta; four step grandchildren; and eleven step great grandchildren.
Service of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 8, 2022 at her church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville, preceded by a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.
