Mark Edward Houser, Sr., 90, of Campbelltown passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.
Born November 1, 1933 in Hershey, he was a son of the late Norman H. and E. Martha (Longenecker) Houser and widower of Martha E. “Martie” (Smith) Houser since December 2013.
Mark retired in 1996 from Lebanon County Vo Tech, after teaching Auto Body Repair for 26 years. A member of Campbelltown United Methodist Church, he was a life member of the Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company, holding multiple positions over his 68 active years. He formerly served as the EMA Director for South Londonderry Township and, following in his father’s footsteps, was the Town Santa for over 30 years.
Surviving are his children Mark E. Houser, Jr. of Campbelltown, Dennis E. Houser (Stacey) of Palmyra, Cindy L. Risser (Jay) of Palmyra, and Stacy L. Morder (Keith) of Palmyra; grandchildren Samantha Houser, Michael Houser, Douglas Houser (Brenna), Daniel Houser (Christine), Mark Risser, Sr. (fiancée Erica), Jay Risser, Jr. (Michelle), Karissa McGarrity (Taylor), and Nicholas Morder; and twelve great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company Social Hall, 2818 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown preceded by a viewing from 9:00 AM. Interment in Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery, Campbelltown.
