Marilyn L. (Jacobs) Barton

Marilyn L. Barton, 80, of Annville passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023.

Born April 23, 1943 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Bromley and Winifred (Elliott) Jacobs.  After 57 years of marriage, Marilyn was the widow of Robert L. Barton, Sr., since March 2023.

She received her RN degree from the former Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing in 1964 and worked as a registered nurse in her husband’s private practice.  A Sunday School teacher and Bible Quiz coach for many years, Marilyn currently was an active member of GracePoint Church, Palmyra.  An accomplished violin player, she enjoyed playing in church every Sunday and was a former member of the Hershey Symphony and Harrisburg Symphony.  She was loved by and dearly loved her twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Surviving are her children Robert L. Barton, Jr. (Tracey), Debra L. Stein (Paul), and Thomas E. Barton (Emily); siblings Carole Shaw (John), Dennis Jacobs (Geraldine) and Constance Chaump (widow of George Chaump); grandchildren Gabe (Ashley), Sara (Bryce), Katie (Mike), Nate, Andrew, Jake, Rachael, Ethan, Preston, Autumn, Cooper, and Ryker; and great grandchildren Ellie and Mitchell.

A memorial service will be held 12:30 PM Saturday, December 16, 2023 at her church, 740 Leon Avenue, Palmyra preceded by a visitation from 11:00 AM.  Private interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
