Mamie R. (Lefever) Newhouse Garman

Mamie R. Newhouse Garman, 81, of North Londonderry Township, Lebanon County, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Born August 4, 1943 in Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late John Z. and Carrie V. (Sullivan) Lefever.  Mamie was the widow of Wilson J. Newhouse, Sr. since December 1969 and Paul W. Garman since January 2024.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter Cynthia Weatherholtz; granddaughter Sara Berkheimer; great granddaughter Kristi Dougherty; and brothers John Lefever, Richard Lefever and Paul Lefever.

Retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Philhaven, Mamie was a member of Palmyra Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are her children Dennis Garman, Sr. of Highspire, Donald Garman (Laurie) of Palmyra, Wendy Haver (Brad) of Elizabethtown, Wilson J. Newhouse, Jr. (Peggy) of Valrico, Florida, Paula Oster (Dana) of Marietta, Brian Newhouse of Annville, and Kevin Newhouse (fiancée Cindy Caviness) of Kernersville, North Carolina; sisters Marian Backenstoes (George) and Betty Schell (Gene); 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Palmyra Church of the Brethren, 45 North Chestnut Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing from 1:00 PM.
