Lorraine Faith Helman, 81, of Palmyra, passed away Saturday, May 18th, 2024, at the Hershey Medical Center.
Born November 1st, 1942, in Annville, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Edith (Mintz) Herr and also preceded in death by her siblings Wayne Herr, Ronald Herr, and Elaine Wildasin.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lebanon, and enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, writing, and sending cards and letters. Most important to Lorraine was spending time with her family.
Lorraine was known to her family and friends for her love of her Lord Jesus. She always demonstrated her love of Jesus Christ by putting others first. She put other’s needs ahead of her own. Her goal in everything she did was to glorify Christ.
Lorraine greatly enjoyed entertaining, and many had the privilege of being invited into her house for food and fellowship. She had a ready smile and word of encouragement for all who came. She was deeply involved in her grandchildren’s lives, and was eager to show them everything from gardening to picking green beans to decorating her famous Peanut Butter Easter eggs. The sugar cookies that she brought to every event are renowned and will be missed.
Surviving her is her husband of 61 years, Richard C. Helman. Her children: Kelley Kissane (Thomas), Eric Helman (Janet), David Helman (Tonya), and Greg Helman. Her grandchildren: Brittani Sanchez (Mike), Rachel Helman (Gregory Boring), Krista Helman, Tiarra Price (Spencer), Alyssa Helman, Zachary Helman, Katherine Kissane, and James Kissane.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 25, 2024, at First Baptist Church, 20 Linden Road, Lebanon. It will be preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Private Interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
