Lore (Runkle) Lilley

Lore Lilley, 92, of Grantville passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

Born May 27, 1930 in Grantville, she was a daughter of the late Charles R. and Lydia (Brezing) Runkle.  She was the widow of Sylvester B. Lilley since August 2020 after 67 years of marriage and also preceded in death by a brother John Runkle.

Surviving are her children Rodney W., husband of Kathaleen Lilley of Lebanon, Meloney G., wife of Keat Morris of Preston, Maryland, and Denise M., wife of Alfonso Santiago of Harrisburg; brothers Carl Runkle of Reading and Willian Runkle of Milford, Delaware; grandsons Justin D. Lilley, Joseph A., husband of Asa Reitzi, and Thomas J. Lilley; and great granddaughters Franki and Forest.

Lore was a graduate of the Hershey High School Class of 1947.  After marriage, she became a homemaker, which gave her the ability to do what she loved most, taking care of family and friends.  She was always present for family activities and events and loved nothing more than seeing her entire family and extended family together.

She was a lifetime member of Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church where she actively participated in many church events and committees.  In her later years, she was affectionately known by her church family as “Grandma Lilley.”

Service of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 4, 2023 at her church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville preceded by a viewing from 10:00 AM.  Interment in Grantville Cemetery.
