Lester “Skip” Longenecker, Jr., 95, of Palmyra passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Born August 11, 1929 in South Annville Township, he was a son of the late Lester H. and Sarah (Lehman) Longenecker. Skip was the widower of Carolyn J. (Ott) Longenecker since June 2017 and also preceded in death by a son Randy L. Longenecker; granddaughter Sara Berkhimer; step mother Sara (Koons) Longenecker; and siblings Barry Longenecker, George Longenecker, Carl Longenecker, Richard Longenecker and Shirley Ruhle.
A retired bus driver from Milton Hershey School, Skip was a member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, Prince Edwin-Spring Creek Lodge #486 F. &A. M., Harrisburg Consistory, Shriners, and a lifetime member of the Citizens Fire Company #1, Palmyra.
Surviving are his son Michael Longenecker (Trish Skinner) of East Hanover Township; daughter Laurie Ann Garman (Donald, Sr.) of Palmyra; brother Robert Longenecker of Hershey; grandchildren Janelle Longenecker, Jennifer Longenecker, Nathan Longenecker, Kari Longenecker and Jonathan Moats; great grandchildren Ezekiel Stephan, Raelyn Longenecker, Randy Longenecker, Estella Longenecker, Ella Longenecker, Myka Lechleitner, Trent Grab, Kaylee Herr and Liliana Herr; and step mother Linda Longenecker.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a visitation from 10:00 AM. Interment in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
