Leroy C. Kapp Obituary

Leroy C. Kapp, 76, of South Londonderry Township passed away Friday, January 15, 2021. 

 

Born July 5, 1944 in Schaefferstown, he was a son of the late John H. and Margaret (Zartman) Kapp and also preceded in death by his brother Charles Kapp.

 

He received an Associate degree in drafting from Penn State.  Employed by the Lebanon Steel Foundry for 18 years, he later worked nine years for Philadelphia Mixers and 15 years at Home Depot.  Leroy was a member of Lawn Evangelical Congregational Church, St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Schaefferstown, Dela-Ches Fishing Association, and Mount Olivet Lodge #704 F. & A.M., where he was secretary for seven years.  A lifetime member of Heidelberg Sportsmen, Mill Creek Rod and Gun and R Field and Stream, he was a Hunter Education Instructor for 35 years, Boy Scout Leader and avid car enthusiast.  Leroy enjoyed hunting, working in his woodshop and making many wonderful items, but most important to him was spending time with family.

 

Surviving are his wife of 8 years Mary Ann (Dubbs) Reedy Kapp; children Scott C. Kapp (Kim) of West Virginia, Brandon C. Kapp (Melissa and their two children Wyatt and Raelynn) of Lebanon, Tiler C. Kapp (Allyson) of Richland and Sean R. Reedy (Deb) of Palmyra; grandchildren Jaclyn Smith (Richard), Zachary Kapp (Robin), Sean Reedy and Alexis Reedy; and great grandchildren Olivia and Cooper Smith.

 

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Lawn Evangelical Congregational Church, 5566 Elizabethtown Road, Lawn preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.  Please wear jeans.  A luncheon will follow the service at the church.   Private interment was in Schaefferstown Cemetery.
