Larry A. Buchter

Larry A. Buchter, 81, of South Londonderry Township passed away Monday, June 24, 2024.

Born January 18, 1943 in Hershey, he was the son of the late Joseph R. and Helen E. (Hitz) Buchter and also preceded in death by his son Robert J. Buchter.

Retired from Hershey Foods, he attended New Life Church of Hershey and, as a car enthusiast, was a former member of the Hershey Region AACA.  He loved watching local racing and NASCAR, camping and traveling with friends, but especially spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife of almost 63 years Ethel M. “Dollie” (Clawser) Buchter; daughter Sherri L. Kanode (Kevin) of Elizabethtown; daughter-in-law Barbara Buchter-Grandusky (Mark) of Lebanon; grandchildren Lauren Rice (Eddie), Timothy Kanode (Alexis), Andrea Dupler (Josh), Penelope Stables (Paul), and Benjamin Buchter; great grandchildren Jett Bechtold, Anabelle Rice, Everly Rice, Titus Kanode, and two on the way.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at his church, 99 Valley Road, Hummelstown preceded by a viewing from 10:00 AM.  Interment in Campbelltown United Christian Cemetery.
