Landry K. Appleby

Landry K. Appleby, 80, of Annville passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Born February 15, 1944 in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Thomas M. and Verna (Kyper) Landry and also preceded in death by a daughter Aleysia A. Altland on January 17, 2021.

Retired as high school principal from Lower Dauphin High School, he coached and taught at Lebanon High School and was assistant principal at Penn Manor.  A U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart, Landry retired with 20 years of service from the P.A. Army National Guard.  He was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, a coin and toy soldier collector, and thoroughly enjoyed history enriching his daughters' lives on summer road trips. 

Surviving are his wife of 53 years Carol (Kazmar) Appleby; daughters Deanne E. Seidel and Christiana A., wife of Savuth Uy; grandchildren Patric Altland, Chelsea Seidel, Elizabeth Seidel, Amber Altland, wife of Omar Harbi, Wesley Uy, Bennett Uy and Henry Uy; great grandchildren Natalie Kohr, Oaklynn Kohr and Maverick Kohr.

A funeral service will be held 11:45 AM Monday, October 21, 2024 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing beginning at 11:00 AM.  Interment, with military honors, will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
