Kenneth Eugene Betz Obituary

Kenneth Eugene Betz, 81, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023, at Lebanon VA Medical Center.

He was born on September 6, 1942, in Hershey, Pennsylvania to the late Marlin Betz and Mary (Whitmer) Green.

He was proud resident of the Alden Place community in Lebanon, Pennsylvania and was a 1961 graduate Hershey High School.  He married Carol Ann (Peters) on May 6, 1967, in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, with whom he recently celebrated 56 wonderful years of marriage.

He worked as an Electrical Foreman at John E. Fullerton, Inc., for most of his working years, retiring in 2005. He was known for his exceptional trouble shooting, problem solving skills and life-long friendships he built there.

Ken loved spending time with family and friends and could mostly be found working on DIY projects, home maintenance and tinkering on his or family members cars. He was an avid learner and could often be found with his nose in a military history book or a BMW repair manual. He had the ability to make all he knew laugh with his wit and humor. He cherished his loyal companion, his Corgi, Klem.

Ken was a proud patriot, serving as an Army Vietnam Veteran. He actively served from 1964-1966 in Fort Sill, OK and Pleiku, Vietnam. He was honorably discharged with a rank of SP4. He was an active member of the Vietnam Veterans Association of Lancaster Chapter 1008, past member of Nittany Bimmers BMW Club and member of Sacred Heart of Jesus in Lebanon, PA.

Ken is survived by his wife, Carol Ann; daughter, Heidi Betz; sons Brandon (Kathryn) Betz and Ryan (Amberly) Betz; brothers Randy Betz and Larry Betz; and sister Diane Drumheiser.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:30 PM Monday, January 8, 2024 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 2596 Cornwall Road, Cornwall, preceded by a visitation beginning at 11:00 AM.  Interment, with military honors, will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville following the service.
