June R. (Betz) George

June R. George, 97, formerly of South Londonderry Township passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Manheim.

Born June 13, 1926 in North Londonderry Township, Lebanon County, she was a daughter of the late Michael, Sr. and Celia (Werner) Betz and, after almost 59 years of marriage, the widow of Mark J. George since November 2008.  June was also preceded in death a son David L. George and siblings Bernice, Wayne, Michael, Jr., Carl, Donald, Doris, Glenn, Kay, Keith, Gene and Ernie.

A former employee of Hershey Foods, she was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Colebrook and Chocolate Workers Union Local 464.  June enjoyed puzzles, reading and word searches.

Surviving are her children Robert M., husband of Alma George of Palmyra, Darlene F., widow of Otto Bender of Palmyra, Dale C., husband of Loraine George of Palmyra and Donna J., wife of Ron Hoffer of Lebanon; sister Phyllis Eckert (Bruce); six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing from 10:00 AM.  Interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
