June Hitz Evans

Devoted mother, grandmother, and wife June Hitz Evans of Palmyra passed away Monday, November 2, 2020.

Born July 6, 1925, June was the youngest of 10 children of the late Adam and Elizabeth (Eckert) Hitz, raised on a farm east of Campbelltown.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Orville W. Evans.  June is survived by daughter Bonnie (Evans) Cooper and husband Kirby Cooper; son Kevin Evans and wife Linda (Cooper) Evans.  She was also the loving grandmother of Matthew Cooper, Rebekah (Cooper) Richard (husband Dylan Richard), and Ethan Cooper.

June was a graduate of Hershey High School, worked for Hershey Foods, retired from Palmyra Area Schools, and was a member of Campbelltown United Methodist Church.  Playing cards and games, listening to country music, and entertaining and cooking for family and friends were her favorite activities.

A private service with interment in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville was held for the family.
