Joyce Ann Miller, 81, formerly of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County passed away Friday, May 13, 2022 in Middletown.
Born January 16, 1941 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence A., Sr. and Hetta B. (Turns) Miller and was also preceded in death by her sisters Doris Jean Hetrick and Sandra M. Rennex.
She retired as a secretary from Hershey High School and was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Linglestown. Also a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority where she held various leadership roles in the organization, she belonged to professional associations related to her work as an educational secretary. Joyce had a love of travel, whether cruising or road trips throughout the United States, and the world. She made friends wherever her travels took her. She also loved hosting friends and family for summer gatherings and at the holiday season. Joyce loved Christmas time and decking the halls with multiple trees. Later in life, Joyce enjoyed relaxing on the front porch with a glass of iced tea and watching the hummingbirds and other wildlife. She was joined by her companion, Cookie the boxing cat, who came for a picnic one summer and made himself at home.
Surviving are her brother Lawrence A. Miller, Jr. and wife Sharon; nieces and nephews Wendy Reside, Tanya Drake, John Miller and wife Jill and Jennifer Hess and husband David; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 11, 2022 at her church, 1214 Crosby Street, Linglestown, PA. Private interment will be in Shoops Cemetery.
