Joseph A. Budd, Jr., 80, of West Hanover Township passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
Born August 15, 1945 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Joseph A., Sr. and Laura W. (Sheesley) Budd.
Retired from Sears and Bass Pro Shops, he was involved in real estate, buying, selling, renting and building and a member of Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church. He graduated from William Penn High School after attending Bishop McDevitt for many years and then earned a business degree from HACC. A volunteer at the AACA, Joe was ski instructor of the year at Ski Roundtop and attained Level 2 Instructor. He enjoyed skiing, fishing, shooting, reading Steven King novels, and bowling, having bowled a perfect 300. To sum up Joe Budd, is to say golfer, including watching, playing, teaching, and crafting clubs.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years Diana (Mummert) Budd; daughter Jessica Budd of Dauphin; siblings Beverly Frye (widow of Joseph) of Harrisburg, CDR (Ret) William Budd (Libby) of Stafford, Virginia, Stephanie Maddock of Greencastle, Michael Budd (Brenda) of Harrisburg, and Lucy Grove (Dana) of Waynesboro; and many nieces and nephews.
A Service of Christian Faith will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at his church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville preceded by a visitation from 10:00 AM.
