John V. Pennebaker, 79, of Colebrook passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at home.
Born December 16, 1941 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late John and Bessie Pennebaker and also preceded in death by a granddaughter Jennifer Meadows.
Retired from the U.S. Air Force and Philadelphia Mixers, he was a member of Mount Wilson Church of the Brethren where he served as Recreation Coordinator and Church Treasurer and was active with missions and service. He graduated from Lewistown High School where he played football, served on the South Londonderry Township Municipal Authority, and enjoyed camping.
Surviving are his loving wife of 34 years Jan L. (Peffley) Pennebaker; children Jody, wife of Paul, Wendie, wife of John, Sherry, wife of Ronald, James and wife Julie, Jenelle, wife of Michael, and Jack and wife Melanie; sister Jane, wife of Steve; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at his church, 1261 Mount Wilson Road, Lebanon preceded by a visitation from 10:00 AM. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
