John D. Sitch Obituary

John D. Sitch, 72, of Hershey passed away Friday, December 27, 2024 at the home of his companion Marge.

 

Born August 29, 1952 in Freeland, he was the son of the late Peter and Cecilia (Corazza) Sitch.

 

John was a former Customer Engineer for IBM, a member of St. Catherine Laboure Church, Harrisburg and attended St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hoernerstown.  He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and a life member of Waterloo Boys John Deere antique tractor club.  A handyman, who could fix anything, he enjoyed woodworking, restoring cars and later developed a passion for restoring tractors.  In his earlier years, John played bass in a Polka Band.

 

Surviving are his companion Marjorie J. Plouse of Hummelstown; sisters Mary Ann Kapish (Tom) and Cecilia Keesecker (David); nephews Tom “TJ” Kapish and Bryan Kapish; and great niece Sophia Kapish.

 

Service of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 2, 2025 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 158 South Hoernerstown Road, Hummelstown preceded by a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM.  Interment will be in Hanoverdale Cemetery, Hummelstown.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Catherine Laboure Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111 or St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 158 South Hoernerstown Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036.
