John A. “Jack” Mellinger, 69, of Palmyra passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022.
Born November 25, 1952 at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, he was preceded in death by his mother Lena (Sullo) Mellinger, father William Mellinger, and brother Robert A. Mellinger.
Retired as Deputy Director for the Army Logistics Innovation Agency at the New Cumberland Army Depot, he was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Palmyra and avid Notre Dame fan. Jack’s life was centered around his family.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years Lois E. (Boyer) Mellinger; children Rebecca K. Stewart (Cory) of Lititz, Carissa B. Mellinger (Eric) of Palmyra, Andrew J. Mellinger (Phoebe) of Philadelphia, and Erica G. Mellinger of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister Jan L. Irwin (Sam) of Jonestown; and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at his church with interment in Hershey Cemetery.
