Joan L. Yiengst, 84 of Palmyra passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025.
Born November 9, 1941 in Hershey, she was a daughter of the late Wayne G. and Ruth (Lenker) Hummer. After 61 years of marriage she was the widow of Robert P. “Bo” Yiengst since September 2022 and also preceded in death by daughter Christine L. Hanna, grandson Max Hanna and brother Grant Hummer.
Joan was a graduate of Palmyra High School, attended Gravel Hill Church, Palmyra and was an Auxiliary member of Palmyra American Legion #72 and Palmyra VFW #6417.
Surviving are her son Kevin R. Yiengst (Deb); brother Wayne Hummer (Cindy); sister Carol Urey; grandchildren Zach R. Yiengst (Blair), Taylor L. Bleiler (Chris), Ella E. Yiengst and Camille C. Hanna; great grandchildren Isla Bleiler, Archie Yiengst, Rory Hanna, Beau Bleiler and Lucy Yiengst.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be held 12:00 – 2:00 PM Friday, December 12, 2025 at Palm Lutheran Church, 11 West Cherry Street, Palmyra. Private interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Serenity Hospice, 205 Granite Run Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.
