Joan E. Hibner, 89, formerly of Camp Hill and Bethany Towers, Mechanicsburg was welcomed into the arms of the great love of her life, Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 4, 2020 in the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
Born July 2, 1931 in Shavertown, she was a daughter of the late Baden J. and Helen R. (Shannon) Thomas and preceded in death by sisters Florence A. (Thomas) Schmidt, Diana L. (Thomas) Torigian and twin brother John E. Thomas.
Retired from Pennsylvania Employees Benefit Trust Fund, she was a 1950 graduate of DuBois Senior High School. Joan enjoyed gardening, knitting, reading, feeding backyard wildlife, her rescue cat “Tootsie”, but most important to her was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her children James G., husband of Karen (Griffie) Cochran of Mechanicsburg, Julie L. (Hibner), wife of Bradley E. Putt of Lutz, Florida and Jill Hibner of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren Erin L. (Cochran), wife of Joseph S. Crispin, Sean J., husband of Krista N. (Musser) Cochran, Shannon E. (Putt), wife of Mark L. Moyer and Michael B. Putt; great grandchildren Abigail L., Elijah J., Naomi K., Isaiah S., Daniel S., Mackenzie M., Caroline G. and Ella Rose.
A private graveside service will be held in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
